Guitar God: The 1980s Guitar Hero!

by Trevor May | 2nd July 2008 | Humour Video games | 6 comments

What would have Guitar Hero been like if it were released in the early 80s? I’d imagine something very much like this! I particularly like the grating (but familiar) “game over” sound. (thanks Dave!)

    I much prefer Shredz64!

But Shredz64 is (afaik) a real game/mod where this is clearly (and amusingly!) fake.

Hah. Angry Video Game Nerd. I wondered if he was still around…

Fake, hunh? My library of Quasmi games beg to differ.

Thanks for featuring the vid, Dave.

Hi Gabriel, thanks for dropping by! While it would be fantastic that this was a real 1983 Atari 2600 game I can’t find any mention of either the game or “Quasmi Entertainment” anywhere else on the internets.

The extent to which I can account for that is by saying that some things fall in the cracks, over time.

I hope to remedy that, over the summer, by sharing some of the other crummy games in Quasmi’s library. They’ll be posted amidst my other projects.
