Strange Maps: A fantastic site collating odd maps (fictional and real) from all over the place. Some of my favourites include a tourist map of Batman’s Gotham, British war propoganda “Nazi War Aims“, Star Wars’ Tatooine and Manhattan 2.0. (via Kottke)
I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for reading over the past couple of months. This is the first time I’ve really taken this blog seriously and, hopefully, it’s an improvement over the ones I’ve done in the years past. I hope you’re enjoying reading as much as I’m enjoying writing.
Finally, posts may be a little patchy over the next couple of days while I roll around the floor, filled with food, but Antikewl Daily will be back to normal after the holiday break.
Enjoy yourselves!
– Trevor.
Antikewl Daily on MySpace: I set up an account for Antikewl Daily on MySpace a short while ago. If you’re a MySpace user, feel free to befriend it.
I discovered today, via BoingBoing, the blog of 93 year old blogger Donald Crowdis: Don to Earth. If you haven’t read it before, I urge you to take a look. His writing very much reminds me of the late Alistair Cook.
I’ve never read any of his books — though I really should — but I do love Will Self. As an avid walker, Will recently walked from his South London house to Heathrow, then continued to walk from JFK to his destination hotel in Manhattan. Around 46 miles in total.
“In the post-industrial age, this is the only form of real exploration left. Anyone can go and see the Ituri pygmy, but how many people have walked all the way from the airport to the city?†(via Kottke)
Hey, Gramps, Can I Borrow Your Mac? “Apple’s commercials like to portray its users as young and hip. But a new study is offering some contrary information.
When it comes to home computers, nearly half (46%) of Apple’s U.S. user base is 55 or older. That’s compared with only 25.2% of home PC users who are in that age category, reports MetaFacts Inc., a national market research firm.”
Sorry about the lack of posts of late. We had a rather nice break in the South of France, followed by a rather nice weekend in Amsterdam, followed immediately by redundancy. Consequently I’ve been spending a lot of time sorting out my portfolio and scouting for work.
